The new "Dakota Lift" in Big Ski is a triple chair that improves access to Bavarian Forest and the recently opened 212 acres of Dakota Territories. The biggest skiing in America is now even bigger, and Lone Peak Passholders have access to over 5,500 acres.
In 2007-2008, Big Sky will offer 3,812 acres of skiable terrain accessed by 21 lifts while Moonlight Basin will offer 2,900 acres of skiable terrain accessed by 7 lifts.
The new Dakota lift is located on the south face of Lone Mountain below Liberty Bowl, and Dakota Territories is primarily open bowl skiing at an intermediate angle. The new lift is 3,100 feet long, has a vertical rise of 1,210 feet.
Located on the north side of Lone Mountain, Moonlight Basin is "Montana's New Frontier." In addition to a high level of guest service and genuine Montana hospitality, the terrain in Moonlight Basin is great for families and adrenaline junkies alike.
