Big Sky, Montana Family Vacations
Big Sky is fun for the whole family. Kids can have their own special ski vacation with various ski school programs and camps and find slopes and parks on their own with a little bit of help. Parents can get out on the slopes with the help of the Little Wranglers Daycare located slopeside. Both Moonlight Basin and Big Sky feature family-oriented events after the ski lifts close for the day, energy permitting!
Mountain Wranglers Ski and Snowboard Clinics
At the Mountain Wranglers Ski and Snowboard Clinic, expert coaches teach children the fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding. But the coaches also help kids to experience the beauty, freedom, and challenge of snow sports. Coaches with our Mountain Wranglers Ski and Snowboard Clinic emphasize safety and fun in a kid-friendly learning environment. All ability levels and learning styles are welcome. And with low child-to-teacher ratios, children are assured quality coaching with a personal touch. Children are even given a daily “progress report” to take home to Mom and Dad! With the Mountain Wranglers Ski and Snowboard Clinic at Moonlight Basin, your children receive the encouragement they need. And there's no telling where that can lead.
Little Wranglers Daycare
At the Moonlight Mountain Kids Center in Pony Express Lodge, children receive quality care from experienced staff in a safe and loving environment. While you explore all that Moonlight Basin has to offer, our Little Wranglers Daycare helps your kids fill their days with fun and stimulating activities, ranging from art projects and beadwork to group games and storytelling. There’s even a fenced-in area outside for unmatched fun, and a quiet nap room for some peaceful slumber. More importantly, low child/care provider ratios assure that your kids experience the consistent attention and support they need throughout the day. With professional and caring staff; an intimate, supportive atmosphere; full facilities that offer a multitude of activities; a tasty lunch and snacks; and convenient parking for drop-off/pick-up, Little Wranglers Daycare makes the perfect place to leave your kids.
Family Night with Moonlight at Headwaters Grille
Family Nights are a series of informal gatherings featuring sledding, a bonfire, homemade pizzas, and western winter merriment for all. In the warmth of the Madison Lodge, movies, crafts, and games keep kids entertained, while outside, they’ll discover a nighttime winter playground. A bonfire toasts up a dessert of roasted marshmallows and s’mores.
Kids Ski Free
Children 10 and under ski free at Big Sky and Moonlight Basin.
Blazing Saddles Sledding Hill Moonlight Basin's Blazing Saddles Sledding Hill is located near the Madison Village Base Area. Sleds are available for rent. This is a great way for kids and adults to have fun after a day of skiing.
Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides
Moonlight Basin and Cedar Mountain Corrals have teamed up to offer horse drawn sleigh rides to a rustic yurt on the edge of Ulrey's Lake. Once you arrive, you'll be treated to hot drinks, s'mores and fun, witry activities.

At Big Sky Resort
Family Fun Zone
When the lifts close, head for the Family Fun Zone in the base area of Big Sky Ski Resort, which has tubing and a small terrain park. It operates from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday nights. Big Sky Resort also offers an variety of family events including firework displays and family movie nights.
