CROSS COUNTRY / NORDIC SKIING AND SNOWSHOEING
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing has become one of the fastest growing sports – perhaps because it’s so easy to get started! With no instruction, beginners will experience the serenity of the mountains, take in breathtaking, backcountry scenery, and get a great workout. Moonlight Basin has designated snowshoe trails, including a snowshoeing trail that starts near the Moonlight Lodge and winds through 3 miles of natural beauty. In addition, there is a 2.5 mile trail that begins at the Madison Village base area and loops around the beautiful Ulreys Lake.
Trails are open from 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 7 days a week during winter season. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced loops are available.
Snowshoe rentals and trail passes are available through the SnowSports School Office at the Moonlight Lodge or at the Madison Village Base Area.
Cost: Snowshoe Trail Use with Equipment Rental: $15
Snowshoe Trail Use Only: $5
Moonlight Basin Snowshoe Trail Season Pass: $50
