From Bozeman’s Gallatin Field to Big Sky: At the airport exit turn right towards Belgrade on the Frontage Road/ Hwy 10. Proceed 1.4 miles to the second stop sign, turn left. The road, Hwy. 291/ Jackrabbit Lane passes over Interstate 90 and becomes Hwy. 85 and then Hwy. 191 or Gallatin Road. Once over I-90, proceed south 7 miles, go straight through the four-way stop light on Hwy. 191. Continue south on Hwy. 191 for 34 miles becomes highway 191. Turn right towards Big Sky and travel about 11 miles to Moonlight Basin Ranch. Turn left at the log arch. Follow Mountain Loop Rd about 1 mile to the Moonlight Lodge.
Yellowstone National Park's West Entrance to Big Sky: From West Yellowstone, MT: From Yellowstone's west entrance, take Hwy 191 north about 35 miles through the beautiful Gallatin Canyon to the stop lights. Turn left towards Big Sky and travel about 11 miles to Moonlight Basin Ranch. Turn left at the log arch. Follow Mountain Loop Rd about 1 mile to the Moonlight Lodge.
The northwest border of Yellowstone Park is only 18 miles farther south of the Big Sky turnoff. The actual gateway to Yellowstone at the town of West Yellowstone, MT is 47 miles south of Big Sky.
